London, May 5th 2015 After 3 weeks we released the second release candidate of OrientDB 2.1. Many fixes and better performance on traversing graphs by using SQL. We measured 3x-10x in comparison to 2.1-rc1 and 2.0.x. We suggest to use 2.1-rc2 only if you are in development. Instead, users in production should wait 2.1 GA for the upgrade. Orient Technologies has just released OrientDB v1.7-rc1. This is the first Release Candidate of the version 1.7, other Release Candidate will follow in the next weeks. We knew the biggest OrientDB's bottleneck was on management of vertices with many edges. Andrey posted a benchmark about importing Wikipedia dataset comparing the new OrientDB 1.7-rc1 and previous OrientDB 1.6.4.
